“Thank you, Christine, for your fantastic teaching! Your uplifting approach, patience, attention to detail and curiosity about how we can truly work as one with the instrument is not only very inspiring, but has become a vital part in my life-long journey as musician and instrumentalist. Your Timani lessons have helped me understand how to become free from unnecessary physical tension and use the natural balance points when I play; the result is effortlessness and a deeper, more resonant sound.”

This is about your potential to be the best musician you can be.

At the end of the day, you’re after that connection, the expression, the magic, the energy, the aliveness — whatever lights you up. Focusing on that and allowing the music to flow through you can sound like an elusive experience, but it doesn’t have to be mysterious. I’m here to break it down, map out the solutions that make sense for you, and believe in you every step of the way.

The decision to found Effortless Musician was born out of my deeply rooted belief that you are capable of much more than you think you are — and my frustration that others don’t see what I see. I spent too many years spinning my wheels: putting in all the effort without enough of the right tools to make it pay off. Now that I know how to streamline both the mental and physical sides of practice and performance, I just can’t keep it to myself.

Online and live, I’ve worked with musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Complete Vocal Institute, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, and Nordic Piccolo Festival, among others, providing tailored experiences that address the challenges of the whole musician.

My formal training includes a bachelors in neuroscience from Brown University (USA) and music performance studies in the UK, Sweden, and Denmark. I’m the first American to be certified in Timani and Seven Pillars Yoga (200h Yoga Alliance International) at the Musicians’ Health and Movement Institute in Norway, where I’m an Institute Teacher. I’ve also studied Performance Psychology with Noa Kageyama from Bulletproof Musician. In addition, I have over a decade of experience playing in professional orchestras and auditions.

I continue to be inspired to search for new ways to solve problems and create more effortlessness. The more I learn, the more empowered I feel. The more I’ve worked on my musical body and mind, the more I enjoy playing — the whole reason I started in the first place! And the more I experience that, the more I believe that you can and deserve to experience it too. If this speaks to you, please reach out. I’d love to work with you.
