“This yoga course helped me activate my body in a way that helped me play with more ease. It gave me stability where I needed it most, and made me feel more grounded.

Christine is so full of knowledge, joy, and compassion, and her yoga classes were exactly that. She paced the lessons perfectly: there was enough time to understand the foundations, explore different things, and flow at the same time.

I've never had a yoga class that was taught in a more thorough yet light way. Christine knows what she's talking about and I couldn't recommend her more!”

Yoga more, practice less

Do you ever feel like you can’t be in good shape unless you practice a certain number of hours per day? Or that starting to practice after a long break is inherently frustrating — which stops you from enjoying your break in the first place? I felt like that for years. But since I started doing this yoga, I can stay in shape whether I practice or not. That’s why it’s called Effortless Musician Yoga, and I’m excited to share it with you!

How is this different from regular yoga?

As in music, the details make all the difference. “Regular yoga” can be a lot of different things, and whether it supports your music making or not depends on a lot of variables. This yoga is specifically designed to help you build up strength, control, and healthy coordination in the muscles that support singing and playing (in your whole body, not just next to your instrument). I help you tweak things or modify moves to get the most out of it, and decrease unnecessary tension in your body.

What if I’m not very flexible or haven’t done yoga before? I’m worried I’ll injure my hands and wrists.

No worries! This isn’t about getting into perfect pretzel poses; it’s about learning to use more efficient ways of using your body to be in whatever pose you’re in. This is the key to bringing more effortlessness to your playing or singing, and most musicians can benefit. You’ll get clear anatomical instructions for everything we do in class. I encourage you to listen to your body and offer plenty of ways you can modify moves to be more constructive for your body (e.g., how to take pressure off your wrists and hands, or protect your lower back).
